National April Third Incident commission formed
Next year is 70th anniversary

Next year is the 70th anniversary of the April Third Incident, and a national commission has been formed to uncover the truth of the tragic chapter in the island’s past.

The commission convened for a meeting March 24th at the Seoul Metro Assembly Hall. The members decided to do everything they could to expose the truth, demand an apology from the U.S. for its role, get compensation for victims, and determine what to do about people convicted for their part in the incident.

Representatives from 120 organizations took part in the meeting, including those from victims’ groups, the Jeju April Third Research Institute, and local artistic federations.
