KAS seeks permission to use more groundwater
Korea Airport Service wants 150 tons daily

The Korea Airport Service has asked the province for permission to use more of the island’s groundwater, which it distributes as drinking water.

The KAS wants its daily limit boosted from 100 tons to 150.

The groundwater management committee will review the request April 20th.

The KAS made a similar request last year. Local officials rejected it because the KAS opposes their policy of treating local water as a public resource.

한국공항, 지하수 취수량 증산 요청

주식회사 한국공항이 제주도에 지하수 취수량을 늘려달라고 요청했습니다.

한국공항은 지난달 말, 먹는샘물 제조용 지하수 취수허가량을 현재 하루 100톤에서 150톤으로 늘리는 지하수개발 이용 변경허가를 제주도에 신청했습니다.

이번 증산 신청건은 오는 20일 열리는 지하수관리위원회에서 다뤄질 예정입니다.

한국공항은 지난해에도 지하수 취수량 증산을 요청했지만 공수화 개념에 반한다며 심의에서 부결됐습니다.
