Car limits under consideration for Udo
Officials also mulling increase to entrance fee for small island

Local officials are considering setting vehicle limits on Udo because traffic congestion is becoming a real problem on the small island.

A provincial task force convened for a meeting Friday to discuss traffic problems on Udo.

Cars, motorcycles, and bikes compete for a limited amount of space on the island’s roads. The task force will come up with a plan to limit the number of vehicles there that are not registered in Udo-myeon. It will release the proposal next month.

In addition, the group is accepting the opinions of residents and tourists regarding the entrance fee to Udo Maritime Park. The province is considering increasing it from 1,000 to 2,500 won.

교통 혼잡이 심각한 섬 속의 섬 우도에 외부차량 운행을 통제하는 방안이 추진됩니다.

제주특별자치도 우도 현안 태스크포스팀은 오늘(14일) 회의를 열고 우도 교통문제 해결 방안을 논의했습니다.

TF팀은 우도에 차량과 오토바이, 자전거 등이 뒤섞여 운행하며 혼잡이 발생하는 만큼
우도면에 등록되지 않은 외부차량 운행을 제한하는 방안을 마련하고 다음달 확정 발표하기로 했습니다.

또한 우도해양도립공원 입장료를 현재 성인 기준 1천원에서 2천 500원으로 인상하는 방안에 대해 주민과 관광객 등으로부터 의견을 수렴할 계획입니다.
