Presidential candidate posters going up
840 areas around the island

Officials began Thursday putting up posters with information about all presidential candidates in the upcoming election.

The Jeju Election Commission will put them up in 840 places through Saturday, including on buildings and walls in heavily traveled areas.

The posters include the picture, name, number, and experience of each candidate, so voters can easily grasp all of the basic information they need.

The commission is urging everyone to be careful - damaging or removing the election posters or banners is a violation of the Election Law.

제19대 대통령 선거를 앞두고 오늘부터 대선 후보자 선거벽보가 도내 곳곳에 부착되고 있습니다.

제주도선거관리위원회는 모레(22일)까지 유권자 통행이 많은 건물이나 외벽 등 도내 840여 군데에 대선 후보자 선거벽보를 붙일 계획입니다.

선거벽보에는 후보자 사진과 성명, 기호, 경력 등이 담겨 있어 유권자가 정보를 쉽게 파악할 수 있습니다.

한편 선관위는 선거벽보나 현수막 등을 정당한 사유 없이 훼손 또는 철거할 경우 선거법에 따라 처벌받을 수 있는 만큼 주의해줄 것을 부탁했습니다.
