Jeju City to improve Udo Maritime Park road system

Jeju City is planning some significant upgrades to the road system in Udo Maritime Park, which draws more than two million visitors each year.

As a first step, it has earmarked 1.4 billion won to install U-shaped bollards along a 3.7-kilometer stretch of the Coast Road.

The city will also improve town roads and access roads to fisheries, and it will pave more portions of the Coast Road, in order to make getting around easier for both visitors and locals, alike.

393,000 tourists had visited Udo this year through the end of March, 1.3 percent more than in the first three months of 2016.

우도해양도립공원 안전·편의시설 확충

연간 200만 명 이상 찾는 우도해양도립공원에 안전시설과 편의시설이 확충됩니다.

제주시는 우선 사업비 14억원을 투입해 우도 해안도로 3.7km 구간에 U자형 안전볼라드를 설치합니다.

이와함께 마을어장 진입로 정비사업과 마을안길 보수, 해안도로 포장 등 관광객과 지역주민 편의를 위한 지역개발사업을 추진합니다.

한편 올들어 지난달까지 우도를 찾은 관광객은 39만3천여 명으로 지난해 같은 기간보다 1.3% 증가했습니다.
