Seogwipo targets long-delayed construction projects
15 lodging facilities incomplete 2+ years after permit issuance

The city of Seogwipo will penalize developers that have failed to begin or finish work on accommodation facilities for an extended period.

The punishment may include revoking the construction permit.

Officials are targeting 15 lodging facilities, that have a combined 18-hundred guest rooms. All received construction permits more than two years ago but none of them are yet complete.

The list includes one 50-room project that is unfinished more than five years after it was approved.

Local officials are ordering all of the developers to complete the construction. The city will then begin deliberations and hearings to determine whether to revoke the permits for the projects.

장기 미착공 숙박시설 '승인 취소'

서귀포시가 정당한 사유 없이 장기간 착공하지 않거나 준공되지 않은 관광숙박시설을 승인 취소 등 행정 처분합니다.

처분 대상은 사업계획 승인을 받은 뒤 2년 이내에 착공하지 않은 15곳에 1천 800여 실입니다.

착공한 날부터 5년 이내에 준공하지 않은 1개 시설, 50여 실도 처분 대상에 포함됐습니다.

서귀포시는 이들 숙박시설에 시정명령을 내린 뒤 의견청취와 청문 절차를 거쳐
승인취소 여부를 판단할 계획입니다.
