JTO mulling relocation of Lotte Hotel duty-free shop
Move to Jeju Shinhwa World under consideration

The Jeju Tourism Organization is looking into relocating its duty-free shop in the Jungmun Lotte Hotel to Jeju Shinhwa World.

Landing International, the corporation that runs Shinhwa World, requested the move. The JTO reviewed the proposal and the two are now negotiating the details.

When and if those are worked out, the JTO will apply with the Korea Customs Service to relocate the shop.

Landing would pay for the new facilities. And the rent it charges the JTO would be tied to duty-free sales.

The shop would also be much bigger - two-and-a-half times the size of the current facility at the Lotte Hotel.

제주관광공사가 중문관광단지 롯데호텔에서 운영중인 시내면세점을 제주신화월드로 이전을 추진합니다.

제주관광공사는 신화월드 람정제주개발의 요청에 따라 면세점 이전에 대한 세부적인 검토를 마치고 막바지 협상을 진행하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.

협상이 마무리되면 이달 중으로 관세청에 이전을 신청할 예정입니다.

람정은 면세점 이전에 따른 시설비를 부담하고 임대료도 고정요금이 아닌
매출을 기준으로 한 정률제를 적용하기로 한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

신화월드의 면세점 면적은 1만 여㎡로 현재 롯데호텔 내에 비해 2.5배 가량 넓어집니다.
