Fire safety inspections at 10 hog farms
Billions of won in fire damage in recent years

In the lead-up to the Chuseok holidays, the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters is conducting special inspections at ten hog farms that have had fires in recent years.

Inspectors will ensure the farms have all the required fire safety equipment and that electrical outlets and circuit breakers are in proper working order and up to code.

Twenty-two fires have been reported at Jeju hog farms over the past five years. They caused some 3.9 billion won in damage.

22일까지 양돈장 10곳 소방특별조사

제주도소방안전본부는 추석연휴를 앞두고 오는 22일까지 기존에 화재가 났었던
도내 양돈장 10곳을 대상으로 소방특별조사를 벌입니다.

주요 점검 내용으로는 양돈장 내 소방시설의 적합 여부를 비롯해 화재 취약시설인
전기 콘센트와 누전차단기의 관리상태 등입니다.

최근 5년동안 제주도내 양돈장에서 22건의 화재가 발생해 39억 원의 재산피해가 났습니다.
