Province pockets \1.09t in local taxes in first 9 months of 2017

The provincial government collected 1.09 trillion won in local taxes through the the end of the third quarter this year.

That’s 32 billion won, or 3.1 percent, more that during the same period last year. The province has collected 85 percent of what it is owed.

Analysts say the increase is due to a boost in the amount of acquisition tax that was collected. The local government earned 33 billion won more than last year because of residential and facility construction.

Local officials say that even though the number of real estate transactions is declining, the number of taxpayers who owe the government more than 100 million won is on the increase.

올해 지방세 징수액 1조 900억원…3.1%↑

제주특별자치도가 올 3분기까지 걷어들인 지방세가 1조 900억원에 이르고 있습니다.

이같은 징수액은지난해 같은기간에 비해 3.1%, 320억원이 늘어난 것이며, 징수율은 85%입니다.

특히 각종 주택과 건물의 잇따른 준공으로 취득세가 4천 200억원에 이르러 지난해에 비해 330억원 늘어났습니다.

제주도는 전반적인 부동산 거래 감소에도 1억원 이상의 고액납세자가 크게 늘면서 전반적인 지방세가 늘어난 것으로 분석하고 있습니다.
