Decision on relocation of JTO duty-free shop in mid-December
Jeju Tourism Organization wants to move store to Jeju Shinhwa World

National authorities will announce a decision in mid-December on whether they will allow the Jeju Tourism Organization to move its duty-free shop for international travelers.

According to the JTO, the Korea Customs Service will make three assessments concurrently. The other two involve the duty-free shop in the Jeju airport’s departure lounge and the Seoul Coex.

JTO is seeking permission to move to Jeju Shinhwa World.

It has scaled back its expansion plans. It had wanted to grow the size of its store by a factor of 2.5, but it is now looking to expand by only 35 percent.

한편 제주관광공사는 당초 계획했던 매장 면적을 현재의 2.5배에서 35% 늘리는 수준으로 축소한 것으로 알려졌습니다.
