2 say plans need to be reviewed ‘from the beginning’

This year’s gubernatorial candidates have a range of opinions about the plan to build a second airport in Jeju.

A committee that opposes the construction of the facility asked the five candidates for their stances. The Democratic Party of Korea’s candidate, Moon Dae-rim, and the Green Party’s candidate, Ko Eun-young, say the project needs to be reviewed from the beginning.

Incumbent Won Hee-ryong, who is running as an independent, says his stance is based on the results of a review of the initial feasibility study for the airport.

The Liberty Korea Party’s Kim Bang-hoon and the Bareunmirae Party’s candidate Jang Seong-cheol did not answer the question.
