Still no name attached to 273 sets of remains recovered since 2006
Authorities will soon resume work to identify the remains of April 3rd Incident victims.
The April 3rd Peace Foundation will work with Seoul National University’s forensic laboratory on the project. The foundation will begin collecting blood samples from the relatives of victims next Monday, and then try to match those samples with the remains that have been discovered.
Researchers have unearthed about 400 sets of remains since 2006. 273 have yet to be positively identified.
April 3rd Peace Foundation representatives say it’s vital that all children and siblings of victims donate samples of their blood, and they’re asking relatives for active participation in this initiative.
