4. New ferry now sailing between Jeju and Nokdong
Arion Jeju can carry twice as much cargo as previous vessel

A larger passenger ferry is now sailing between Jeju and Nokdong in Jeonnam.

The Yeosu Regional Office of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries says the 6,200-ton (아리온) Arion Jeju began working the route Saturday. It replaced the 3,700-ton Namhae Express Car Ferry #7.

The (아리온) Arion Jeju can accommodate 810 passengers, just like its predecessor, but it can carry twice as much cargo??up to 300 vehicles.

Travel time is 3 hours and 15 minutes. Roundtrip service is available on weekdays, but on weekends the ferry offers only one-way service.

제주-녹동 항로 여객선 '아리온호' 취항

제주와 전남 녹동 항로에 기존보다 규모가 커진 여객선이 처음으로 취항했습니다.

여수지방해양수산청에 따르면 제주 녹동 항로에 3천 700톤급 남해고속카훼리 7호를 대체한 6천 200톤급의 아리온 제주호가 그제(12일)부터 운항을 시작했습니다.

아리온 제주호는 여객정원이 810여 명으로 기존 선박과 비슷하지만 화물수송 능력은 2배 늘어 차량을 300대까지 적재할 수 있습니다.

제주와 녹동을 3시간 15분에 주파할 수 있으며 주중에는 매일 왕복, 주말에는 편도만 운항하고 있습니다.
