2. Net population inflow shrinking
3,400 in Q4 of last year, 3,100 in Q1 of this year

More people continue to move to Jeju than leave the island, but the difference between the two is narrowing.

According to the Honam branch of Statistics Korea, the net population inflow in the first quarter of the year was 3,100. In the last quarter of 2017 it was 3,400.

By age, around 1,000 people in their 30s moved to the island in the first three months of the year. That’s 200 more than in the previous quarter. A large number of twentysomethings, however, left the island.

인구 순유입 감소세…20대 유출 급증

제주지역 인구 순유입이 점차 감소하고 있습니다.

호남지방통계청에 따르면 올해 1분기 제주로 순유입된 인구는 3천 100여 명으로
지난해 4분기 3천 4백여 명에 비해 줄었습니다.

연령별로 보면 30대 유입이 1천 여명으로 지난 분기보다 200여 명 이상 증가했지만 제주도를 빠져나간 20대 인구가 크게 늘어난 것으로 분석됐습니다.
