A local civil servant is in hot water for allegedly gambling online, which is illegal.

Jeju City officials say they removed the person in question from his or her position after being alerted to the alleged gambling by the Busan Regional Police Agency. The city says he or she was a Grade 7 civil servant working in the general affairs department.

Authorities say they can’t say more about the exact nature and scale of the alleged gambling because it would violate rules governing the disclosure of personal information.
