Sales up 33.8% in April compared to year earlier

The local housing market really took off last month.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport says 836 homes sold in Jeju in April??33.8 percent more than in April 2017, when 625 sold.

That’s the second highest growth in the country, following only the mainland city of Daegu.

The rental market was stronger, too: contracts for 834 units were signed in last month, and that’s over 20 percent more than the year before.

제주지역 주택 매매와 전월세 거래가 크게 늘었습니다.

국토교통부에 따르면 지난달 제주지역 주택매매거래량은 836건으로 지난해 같은 기간 625 건에 비해 33.8% 증가했습니다.

이같은 증가율은 전국 17개 시도 가운데 대구에 이어 두번째로 높은 겁니다.

한편, 지난달 전월세 거래량도 834건을 기록해 20% 이상의 높은 증가율을 보였습니다.
