2. Growth in domestic arrivals slows
10.3% annually 2010-2017, but only 1.5% in March and April

The number of Koreans visiting Jeju continues to grow, but not as quickly as it has in recent years.

According to the Jeju branch of Bank of Korea, the number of domestic arrivals grew by 10.3 percent annually from 2010 to 2017.

That growth rate slowed considerably to just 1.5 percent in March and April this year.

Bank analysts say more Koreans are heading overseas for vacations and that fewer golfers are coming to Jeju to enjoy the sport.

내국인 관광객 증가세 둔화

제주를 찾는 내국인 관광객 증가세가 주춤하고 있습니다.

한국은행 제주본부에 따르면 지난 2010년부터 지난해까지 제주도를 찾는 내국인 관광객은 연평균 10.3% 증가했습니다

하지만 올들어 지난 3월과 4월 증가율은 전년 동기대비 1.5%에 그치는 등 크게 둔화된 것으로 나타났습니다.

한국은행은 이 같은 내국인 관광객 증가세 둔화요인으로 해외여행 수요 증가와 제주 골프 관광객 감소 등을 주 원인으로 분석했습니다.
