2. Credit card points will be convertible to cash
All points on all cards beginning as early as June

Beginning as early as June, credit card users will be able to use all of the points they’ve accrued on their accounts as cash.

The Financial Supervisory Service said all credit card users will be able to use the points to make purchases or convert them into cash, regardless of the number of points.

The service has also decreed that points that became useless because of store closures can be converted into cash.

The changes will go into effect in June at the earliest or November at the latest, depending on the time it takes the credit card companies to update their computer systems.

카드사 적립 포인트 모두 현금 교환 가능

이르면 다음달부터 모든 카드사에 적립된 포인트를 현금으로 사용할 수 있게됩니다.

금융감독원은 다음달부터 모든 카드 이용자는 적립 포인트에 상관없이 카드 포인트를 이용해 물품을 구매하거나 카드대금 결제계좌 입금을 통해 현금화할 수 있다고 밝혔습니다.

금감원은 또 제휴 가맹점의 휴업이나 폐업으로 사용이 어려웠던 제휴포인트도 대표 포인트로 전환해 활용할 수 있도록 했습니다.

금감원은 이 같은 제도는 카드사별 전산시스템 개선 일정으로 오는 6월부터 늦어도 11월 이후부터 시행하도록 할 계획입니다.
