5. Event to enhance multicultural understanding
40 participants in session by Korea Communications Agency

The Jeju branch of Korea Communications Agency held an event Tuesday at its Jeju training center to enhance understanding of multicultural families and the issues they face.

Agency representatives say the session was designed to improve the understanding and acceptance of different cultural backgrounds. The roughly 40 participants included representatives of major telecommunications firms and radio stations.

The agency also plans to support education for foreign nationals married to Koreans on the island on how they can protect themselves from the ill effects of electromagnetic waves.

방송통신전파진흥원, 다문화 이해교육 진행

한국방송통신전파진흥원 제주본부가 마련한 다문화가족 이해교육이 29일 제주본부 교육장에서 열렸습니다.

도내 주요통신사업자와 전파이용자 40여 명이 참석한 가운데 다문화 수용성을 높이고 인식을 개선하기 위한 교육으로 진행됐습니다.

방송통신전파진흥원은 앞으로도 도내 결혼이민자를 대상으로 생활 속 전자파 예방교육 등 지원 활동을 전개하기로 했습니다.
