1. Consumer prices climb 1.8% in May
Agricultural and seafood products 7.2% more expensive than last year

Consumers in Jeju are paying more for goods and services.

The Jeju branch of the Honam Regional Statistics Office says the consumer price index in Jeju last month was 105.12. That’s 1.8 percent higher than in May 2017.

Prices for agricultural and seafood products rose 7.2 percent, industrial goods were 2.2 percent more expensive, and service prices climbed 0.8 percent.

Some of the biggest price gains were for rice, chili powder, gasoline, and apartment maintenance fees. Locals were also paying considerably more to eat out.

5월 제주 소비자 물가 1.8% 상승

제주지역 소비자물가가 지속적으로 오르고 있습니다.

호남지방통계청 제주사무소에 따르면 지난달 제주지역 소비자 물가지수는 105.12로 1년 전보다 1.8% 상승했습니다.

농축수산물이 7.2% 올랐고, 공업제품과 서비스 품목도 각각 2.2%, 0.8% 올랐습니다.

세부 품목별로 보면 쌀과 고춧가루, 휘발유 제품이 크게 올랐고 생선회를 포함한 외식비와 공동주택관리비도 상승폭이 컸습니다.
