2. 68 undocumented immigrants apprehended
6 business owners also booked
Local authorities rounded up dozens of undocumented immigrants over the past month.
The Jeju Provincial Police Agency and the Jeju Immigration Service inspected residential areas popular with foreign nationals and apprehended 68 who were here illegally.
Authorities also booked six business owners who employed them.
Police say they will continue these types of crackdowns as part of crime prevention efforts. The plans include ensuring businesses run by foreigners are operating according to the Food Sanitation Act.
