4. Security certification system for rural guesthouses
Numerous benefits for certified businesses

The provincial government is introducing a security certification system for rural guesthouses.

Businesses must beet 20 requirements to be certified. They include on-site living or administration by the facility owners, a check of all locks inside and outside guest rooms, and the use of CCTV security cameras. Business operators also must be free of all administrative punishments over the previous two years.

Certified guesthouses will be promoted through the websites of the province, the island’s two cities, and the Jeju Tourism Organization. They will also be given priority when the government distributes tourism development funding.

Local officials will begin accepting applications for the certification next month. They plan to fully implement the system in the second half of the year.

농어촌민박 안전인증제 전국 최초 도입

제주특별자치도가 전국 최초로 농어촌민박 안전인증제를 도입합니다.

안전인증제는 신고자의 직접 거주나 운영, 객실 내외부의 잠금장치와 CCTV 설치 유무, 최근 2년 내 행정처분 등 20가지의 요건을 모두 충족할 경우 지정됩니다.

인증제를 받은 업소에 대해서는 제주도와 행정시, 관광공사 홈페이지를 통해 홍보하게 되며 관광진흥기금 지원에 우선혜택을 제공합니다.

제주도는 다음달부터 신청을 받아 올 하반기부터 본격 운영할 예정입니다.
