Lee Seok-mun retains position as superintendent of education

Won Hee-ryong, running as an independent, was re-elected governor on Wednesday.

He carried 52 percent of the vote, more than enough to beat Democratic Party candidate Moon Dae-rim.

Analysts say his re-election will give him a boost in seeing through his plans for the province.

Superintendent of education Lee Seok-mun also retained his office, narrowly defeating Kim Gwang-soo.

원희룡·이석문 재선 성공

6.13 전국동시지방선거에서 무소속 원희룡 후보가 승리하며 재선에 성공했습니다.

원 후보는 어제(13일) 실시된 도지사 선거에서 52%의 지지율로 더불어민주당 문대림 후보를 누루고 당선을 확정했습니다.

특히 재선에 성공하면서 현재 추진중인 도정 운영에 한층 탄력을 받게 됐습니다.

교육감 선거에서는 역시 현역인 이석문 후보가 김광수 후보를 근소하게 따돌리며 재선에 성공했습니다.
