A company has filed a complaint with the Board of Audit and Inspection about the provincial government’s new regulation that restricts the number of rental cars on the island.

Provincial representatives say the unnamed rental car firm argues the regulation is unfair.

The province claims it’s needed because there are too few parking spaces for the vehicles on the island.

A separate company filed suit against the provincial government last month, claiming the new regulation was illegal.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 모 렌터카 업체는 제주도가 시행하는 렌터카 총량제가 부당하다며 최근 감사원에 민원을 청구했습니다.

해당 업체는 렌터카 차고지 부족을 이유로 제주도가 증차를 제한하는 것은 부당하다고 주장하고 있습니다.

지난달에도 렌터카 총량제가 위법하다며 또 다른 업체가 제주도를 상대로 소송을 제기했습니다.
