4. Road in front of airport to get high-tech snow/ice removal system
High-pressure sprayers to douse road with salt water solution

The provincial government will this winter start using a new high-tech system to prevent Haetae Hill Road in front of the airport from freezing over.

The province will spend 300 million won to install a system of high-pressure sprayers along the side of the road that will douse it with a salt water solution to keep it clear.

Officials say it will help prevent both accidents and traffic jams.

제주특별자치도가 겨울철 해태동산 공항로 결빙을 막기 위한 제설시스템을 구축해 올 겨울부터 가동합니다.

3억원 이 투입된 염수 자동분사 시스템은 고압으로 제설용액을 뿌려 눈을 녹일 수 있어 제설차량 없이도 신속한 제설작업이 가능합니다.

제주도는 제설시스템 구축으로 도로결빙에 따른 교통정체와 안전사고 예방에 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.
