EXPLO 2018 Jeju Christian Youth Rally ends

Organizers say their event to commemorate the 110th anniversary of Christian missionary work in Jeju ended in great success.

The Korea Campus Crusade for Christ and the Jeju Council of Churches in Korea organized the EXPLO 2018 Jeju Christian Youth Rally, which was held at Saebyeol Oreum in Aewol-eup. Around 30,000 people, including young people from across the world and local Christians, participated.

Organizers say they took part in a wide range of programs while quote “sharing the love and volunteer spirit of their faith” unquote. Their volunteer activities included cleaning up area beaches and offering medical care to area residents.

Some of the young adults are staying here through July 12th, during which time they are running foreign language camps for children, giving music and taekwondo lessons, and performing other acts of service.

제주선교 110주년을 맞아 애월읍 새별오름 일원에서 열린 EXPLO 2018 청년제주대회가 성황리에 마무리 됐습니다.

한국대학생선교회와 제주도 기독교 교단협의회가 마련한 이번 행사에는 전세계 청년과 도내 기독교인 등 3만 여 명이 참석한 가운데 선교 집회와 다양한 세션 프로그램을 통해 기독교 사랑과 봉사 정신을 나눴습니다.

특히, 행사 기간 해수욕장과 해안가 청소, 의료봉사 등을 펼치며 도민들의 호응을 얻었습니다.

행사에 참가했던 청년들은 각 팀별로 나눠 12일까지 제주 일원에서 어린이들을 위한 외국어캠프와 진로상담, 음악과 태권도 교실과 같은 재능기부 활동을 이어갈 예정입니다.
