1. National Assembly to discuss Refugee Act revisions
Another proposal would abolish Jeju’s visa waiver program

The National Assembly will discuss revising the Refugee Act and abolishing visa-free entry to Jeju.

Democratic Party representative (권칠승) Gwon Chil-seung submitted June 29th a proposal to block economic refugees from making use of the Refugee Act.

Liberty Korea Party representative (조경태) Jo Gyeong-tae plans to submit the proposal to annul Jeju’s visa waiver program.

In addition, Ministry of Justice representatives have announced plans to revise the Refugee Act to prevent abuse of the law.

국회, '난민법 개정·무사증 폐지' 논의

국회에서 난민법 개정안과 무사증 폐지 법안이 논의될 것으로 보입니다.

더불어민주당 권칠승 의원은 경제적 이유 등으로는 난민 심사 자체를 받지 못하도록 하는 난민법 개정안을 지난달 29일, 국회에 제출했습니다.

자유한국당 조경태 의원도 제주 무사증 제도를 폐지하는 내용의 개정안을 국회에 제출할 예정입니다.

한편 법무부는 난민 제도 악용을 막기 위해 난민법을 개정하겠다고 밝혔습니다.
