2. Korea Foundation, Overseas Koreans Foundation moving to Jeju
Both relocating to Innovation City in Seogwipo

The last of the public institutes scheduled to move their operations to Jeju’s Innovation City will soon relocate, four years after site development in the city was complete.

Seogwipo officials say the Korea Foundation is moving in Thursday and that the Overseas Koreans Foundation will follow on Monday. Both organizations are moving into Seogwipo’s Building 2 within the Innovation City.

A combined total of roughly 150 people will work for the two organizations. An official relocation ceremony to commemorate the moves is scheduled for early September.

Once they are complete, the Innovation City will be home to nine public institutes.

동포재단·국제교류재단, 이달 혁신도시 이전

제주 혁신도시 부지가 조성된 지 4년 만인 올해 모든 공공기관이 제주로 이전합니다.

서귀포시에 따르면 한국국제교류재단이 오는 12일, 재외동포재단은 오는 16일
혁신도시 임차 건물인 서귀포시 제2청사에 입주할 예정입니다.

두 기관에는 150여 명이 근무하게 되며 공식적인 이전 기념식은 오는 9월 초순에 열립니다.

국제교류재단과 재외동포재단이 혁신도시로 이주함에 따라 지난 2014년 부지 조성 공사가 완료된 지 4년 만에 9개 공공기관 이전이 마무리를 앞두게 됐습니다.
