Heightened efforts in Jeju City to kill mosquito vectors

Following a nationwide Japanese encephalitis alert, Jeju City health authorities are stepping up efforts to kill mosquitoes, which are vectors for the disease.

They will be spraying and fumigating areas with large numbers of mosquitoes every Friday from this month through the end of October.

Authorities have also set up about 100 LED bug zappers in parks and other areas. Those will also be left on through the end of October.

전국 '일본뇌염 경보'…모기 방역 강화

전국에 일본뇌염 경보가 내려지면서 제주시가 모기 퇴치를 위한 방역을 강화합니다.

이에따라 이달부터 10월까지 매주 금요일을 집중 방역소독의 날로 정해 모기가 많은 취약지에서 방역소독을 실시합니다.

이와함께 공원 등에 설치된 LED 유인포충기 100여 대를 10월 말까지 계속 운영하기로 했습니다.
