1. New community planned around Jeju International Airport
Plan includes 5,000 homes, school, shopping areas

The provincial government has unveiled a plan to develop a new community around Jeju International Airport.

The community, centered around a planned transit center, would include a commercial district, accommodations, shopping areas, medical facilities, residential areas, parks, and public facilities.

The plan calls for the construction of 5,000 homes and an elementary school.

Local officials will brief the residents of each village that would be affected by the development to hear what they have to say about the plan before finalizing it by the end of October.

제주공항 환승센터 중심 5천세대 신도시 개발

제주공항 주변 지역을 광역복합환승센터를 중심으로 5천세대 규모의 새로운 도시를 개발하는 계획이 제시됐습니다.

제주특별자치도는 이같은 내용을 골자로 한 제주공항 주변지역 개발구상안을 공개했습니다.

주요내용을 보면 광역복합환승센터를 중심으로 복합문화와 상업.숙박, 쇼핑, 의료,
주거지역, 공원, 공공시설 등을 제안했습니다.

특히 5천세대 규모의 신규 세대와 함께 초등학교 신설도 이번 개발구상안에 포함했습니다.

제주도는 이달 중 공항주변 마을별로 주민설명회와 도민 공청회를 개최해 의견을 수렴한 후 오는 10월까지 개발구상안과 기본계획을 확정한다는 계획입니다.
