1. Province and provincial council agree to set up joint policy committee
Move comes in line with Jeju’s “cooperative politics” initiative

The Provincial government and the Provincial Council have agreed to set up a permanent Policy Consultation Committee... in line with the initiative for “cooperative politics” on the island.

Provincial Council Chairman Kim Taeseok(김태석) made the announcement through a joint statement on Friday.

According to the statement, the Province will transfer its authorities on human resources and organization restructuring to the Provincial Council... and modifications to related legislations will be made accordingly.

The Council also agreed to cooperate with the Province... to establish a more efficient and effective administration.

Both parties agreed on the need to speedily establish the Permanent Policy Consultation Committee in order to realize the terms of the joint agreement.

제주도·의회 상설정책협의회 설치 합의

제주도와 제주도의회가 제주형 협치 실현을 위해
상설 정책협의회를 설치하기로 합의했습니다.

김태석 제주도의회 의장은 13일 도의회 도민의 방에서
기자회견을 열고 상설정책협의회를 위한 공동선언문을 발표했습니다.

합의문에 따르면
제주도는 도의회의 인사권과 조직권을 의회로 신속히 이양하고
관련 법령을 고치기로 했습니다.

또 의회는 도가 행정을 합리적.효율적으로 수행할 수 있도록
협력하기로 했습니다.

이와함께 합의사항 실현을 위해 '상설정책협의회'를 조속히 설치하고 이를 실행하기 위한 실무기구를 두기로 했습니다.
