Domestic flight passengers drop slightly

The number of international flight passengers traveling through Jeju Airport so far this year has risen greatly… compared to a year ago.

According to the Air Market Trend Report published by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport... a total of 153-thousand people used international flights at Jeju Airport during the first five months of 2018. That’s more than double what it was for the same period a year earlier, when the figure stood at around 68-thousand.

The most popular international route was to and from China, with just over 91-thousand passengers, followed by Japan with 22-thousand.

The number of international flights at Jeju Airport for the January-to-May period... stood at 999, up drastically from last year’s 547.

The number of domestic flight passengers, however, declined slightly at 2.2 percent, to 1-million-250-thousand from 1-million-280-thousand in 2017.

올 들어 제주국제공항의 국제선 이용객이
크게 늘었습니다.

국토부 항공정책실이 발간한
항공시장동향에 따르면 올 들어 지난 5월까지
제주공항 국제선 이용객은 모두 15만3천여 명으로
지난해 같은기간 6만8천여 명에 비해
2배 넘게 늘었습니다.

국가별로는 중국노선이 9만1천여 명, 일본 2만2천여 명 등의
순으로 많았습니다.

제주공항의 국제선 운항 횟수 역시
999회로 지난해 547회보다 2배 가까이 늘었습니다.

다만, 제주공항의 국내선 이용객은 125만 3천여 명으로
지난해 128만여 명에 비해 2.2% 줄어들었습니다.
