5. One-way lanes to be tested around Jeju District Court
Trial basis from July 23, full implementation Sept 10

Drivers should take note when driving around Jeju District Court, as a long stretch of roads there will effectively become one-way lanes from July 23rd.

Jeju City will conduct one-way traffic on a trial basis… on 16 soon-to-be completed new lanes between the District Court and Jeju Jeil Middle School. This will begin next Monday on the lanes that have already completed… and will gradually be expanded... once construction is complete.

The implementation of the one-way system comes on the back of chronic traffic congestion in the area due to disorderly two-way parking, blocking the way for fire trucks and creating safety hazards for pedestrians.

Jeju City is expected to complete construction of the one-way lanes by the end of August, and the one-way system will be fully enforced by early September.

5. 23일부터 법원 주변 '일방통행' 시범 운영

오는 23일부터 제주시 이도2동 제주지방법원 주변 도로가
일방통행으로 시범 운영됩니다.

일방통행이 적용되는 곳은
법원에서 제일중학교까지 16개 이면도로로
이 가운데
공사가 우선 완료되는 구간부터 순차적으로 운영하게 됩니다.

일방통행 운영은
이 일대가 무질서한 양방 주차로 소방차량 진입이 어렵고
교통소통이 저해될 뿐 아니라
보행자 안전도 위협받기 때문입니다.

제주시는 8월 말까지
일방통행로 공사를 마무리한 뒤
9월 10일부터 본격 운영할 계획입니다.
