3. Surion operations postponed in Jeju
Move follows recent fatal Surion crash in Pohang

Following Tuesday’s fatal military helicopter crash in Pohang… Jeju has decided to postpone its use of the same model aircraft - Surion - which was set to begin fire and rescue operations here next month.

Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters said it decided to put on hold all operations of Surion until ongoing investigations reached a conclusion on the exact cause of the accident that killed five soldiers and wounded one at a Navy base in Pohang.

Jeju purchased the Surion aircraft in 2015 for 25 billion won... and it was planned to begin operations as a multifunctional helicopter from next month.

소방헬기 운영 계획도 잠정 보류됐습니다 .

제주도소방안전본부는 추락한 사고 헬기 원인이 나오기 전까지
소방헬기 수리온 운항을 연기하기로 결정했습니다.

지난 2015년 250억 여 원을 주고 구매한 수리온 헬기는
다목적 소방헬기로 다음달 부터 운영할 계획이었습니다.
