Violators could face charges, fines

With Jeju being the nation’s number one domestic summer vacation, it’s not uncommon to see prices of summer-related products skyrocket. But does it ever get out of hand? Jeju is stepping up efforts to make sure it doesn’t.

Local officials will monitor prices at beaches, large retail stores, traditional markets and other highly populated areas until next month… to crack down on illegal pricing practices… such as using fake price tags, violating selling regulations, and charging overrated prices, according to Jeju City on Thursday.

If found guilty, merchants could face charges, fines, or even be made to correct prices on the spot.

가격표시 위반 행위를 비롯해
상거래질서 위반 행위, 부당요금 징수 등을 점검하게 됩니다.

위반 행위가 적발되면
과태료 부과와 고발 등 행정조치할 방침입니다.
