Han Byung-do discusses job creation, government decentralization

President Moon Jae-in’s senior secretary for political affairs recently visited Jeju to discuss policies regarding job creation and decentralization.

In his meeting with Governor Won Heeryong, Han Byung-do said job creation was a key item on the Moon administration’s national agenda, and that it lined up in many ways with the governor’s plans. He added that he hoped to work together with the local administration to develop a cooperative model to achieve the shared goal.

The governor asked the national government for support in formulating policy and funding the creation of 10,000 jobs in the public sector.

Mr. Han also visited the provincial council. He discussed methods of transferring more authority to the body and enhancing government decentralization with Speaker Kim Tae-seok.

한병도 청와대 정무수석이 일자리 정책과 자치 분권 논의를 위해 제주도를 찾았습니다.

한 수석은 원희룡 지사를 만나 국정 과제인 일자리 정책이 원 지사의 일자리 공약과 공통점이 많다며 정부와 지자체가 협력 모델을 만들 수 있기를 바란다고 밝혔습니다.

원 지사는 공공 부문 일자리 1만 개 창출을 위해 정책과 예산 계획을 수립하고 있다며 정부의 협조를 당부했습니다.

한 수석은 이어 의회를 방문해 김태석 도의회 의장과 간담회를 갖고 의회 권한 강화와 자치 분권 실현 방안 등을 논의했습니다.
