1. Disaster insurance for buckwheat, broccoli, and cabbages
Growers can sign up for subsidized policies through end of August

Beginning this year, the list of crops covered by subsidized disaster insurance is expanding to include buckwheat, broccoli, and cabbages.

Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and NongHyup Property & Casualty Insurance say local Nonghyup and Chukhyup branches will accept insurance applications for the new items through the end of August.

Jeju is the only place in the country in which cabbages will be covered by the policies.

The national government pays for 50 percent of the policies, the province picks up 35 percent of the tab, and the policyholder covers only the remaining 15 percent.

메밀·브로콜리·양배추, 재해보험 가능

올해부터 제주에서 메밀과 브로콜리, 양배추도 농작물재해보험에 가입할 수 있습니다.

농림축산식품부와 NH농협손해보험은 올해 신규 품목인 메밀과 브로콜리에 대해
다음달 31일까지 지역 농.축협을 통해 농작물재해보험 가입 신청을 받는다고 밝혔습니다.

양배추도 올해부터 제주에서만 수입보장보험으로 가입이 가능합니다.

보험료의 50%는 국가가, 35%는 제주도가 지원해 가입자는 보험료의 15%만 납부하면 됩니다.
