2. Three Chinese arrested for theft in Jeju
Alleged to have stolen \60m in cash from a Jeju City residential area

Police have arrested three Chinese nationals who they say abused the island’s visa-free entry system to come here to commit theft.

Officers from the Jeju Seobu Police Station say the group includes a 31-old surnamed (뤄 )Rueo. Investigators say they stole some 60 million won in cash from a Jeju City residential area on May 23rd. The police have transferred the case to the prosecution.

Authorities say the three at first got away with the alleged crime??they immediately returned to China after the theft. They were taken into custody at the airport on July 11th when they came back to Jeju.

중국인 원정 특수절도 3명 구속 송치

무사증으로 제주에 들어온 뒤 원정 절도행각을 벌인 중국인 일당이 경찰에 붙잡혔습니다.

제주서부경찰서는 지난 5월 23일 제주시내 주택가를 돌며 현금 6천여 만원을 훔친 혐의로 중국인 31살 뤄 모 씨 등 3명을 구속하고 기소의견을 달아 검찰에 사건을 넘겼습니다.

경찰에 따르면 이들은 범행 직후 중국으로 달아났다가 두 달여 만인 지난 11일 다시 제주공항을 통해 입국하다 검거됐습니다.
