3. April 3rd Incident memorial planned in Osaka
Japanese city is home to many people with Jeju roots

A group of people wants to erect a stone memorial for April 3rd Incident victims in Osaka, which is where most original Jeju Islanders who live in Japan reside.

A committee for the project held a press briefing to talk about the initiative on Friday at the provincial council building.

Members say they will begin a fundraising drive for the memorial, which will be erected in the interests of promoting peace and human rights.

They say it will cost 35 million won. The committee plans to have the memorial installed by the end of November in the Tenno District of Osaka.

4.3희생자 위령비 건립은 모금액 3천 500만 원을 들여 오사카시 텐노지구에 위치한 통국사에 오는 11월을 목표로 추진됩니다.
