Officials checking prices of 124 items weekly

The provincial government is now monitoring more consumer goods as part of efforts to stabilize prices.

Local officials will check and publish the prices of 124 items weekly. The list includes agricultural and seafood products as well as processed goods. Inspectors will visit 16 large retailers and two traditional markets to monitor the prices.

The government is keeping tabs on more than 60 percent more products than last year, when it monitored only 74.

The province operates a mobile-friendly website that displays consumer prices in Jeju so that shoppers can easily get the information they need.

제주특별자치도가 물가안정을 위한 가격조사 품목을 확대합니다.

이를 위해 일주일에 한번 도내 주요마트 16개소와 전통시장 2군데에서 농축수산물과 가공품 등 124가지의 가격정보를 확인해 공개합니다.

가격정보 공개는 지난해 74개 품목에서 60% 이상 늘어난 것입니다.

또 생활물가정보를 스마트폰으로도 확인할 수 있도록 '제주소비물가정보' 모바일 웹 페이지를 구축해 운영하고 있습니다.
