4. Business outlook improves
Business survey index climbs 1 point in August

The local business community has a relatively positive economic outlook.

The Jeju branch of the Bank of Korea says August’s business survey index came in at 76, up 1 percentage point from last month.

Analysts credit improving labor conditions in the manufacturing sector and better sales and financial conditions in other sectors of the economy for the improved outlook.

이번달 제주지역 기업들의 경기 전망이 비교적 긍정적인 것으로 나타났습니다.

한국은행제주본부에 따르면 이달 제주지역 업황전망지수는 76으로 전달보다 1p 상승했습니다.

제조업의 경우 이전보다 인력사정이 나아질 것이라는 답변이 많았고 비제조업 분야는 매출과 자금사정이 좀 더 나아질 것으로 내다봤습니다.
