3. Dongmun Night Market now opens at 7 PM
Jeju City seeks to address complaints of falling daytime sales

Jeju City’s Dongmun Night Market begins this month to open later in the evening.

It is now open from 7 p.m. to midnight. Previously, it had opened at 6 p.m.

Merchants at the regular, daytime Dongmun Market had complained about shrinking sales due to the night market. To address those concerns, Jeju City has decided to shorten the hours of the night market between May and October.

동문야시장, 이달부터 저녁 7시 개장

제주시 동문야시장이 여름철에 한해 영업 시간을 단축합니다.

동문재래시장 야시장은 이달부터 영업 시간을 저녁 7시부터 자정까지로 조정했습니다.

종전 저녁 6시에 개장하던 것에서 한시간 늦춰진 것입니다.

제주시는 야시장 운영으로 매출이 줄었다는 기존 상인회 민원을 감안해 갈등을 봉합하는 차원에서 5월부터 10월까지만 단축 운영한다고 설명했습니다.
