Jeju City earmarks ￦100m for support

In related news, as the serious drought continues in Gujwa-eup, Jeju City has announced financial support for farms to install sprinklers.

Farmers who lack water supply facilities may apply for the support at community service centers through this Friday.

The city has set aside 100 million won for the aid. It will cover 60 percent of the cost to install the sprinklers at about 120 farms.

City representatives say work will begin once the project beneficiaries are chosen, and that all of the sprinklers should be installed by the end of the month.

제주시 구좌읍 지역에 극심한 가뭄이 이어지면서 제주시가 스프링클러를 지원합니다.

제주시는 오는 10일까지 읍면동주민센터를 통해 관수시설이 갖춰지지 않은 밭작물 농가를 대상으로 스프링클러 구입비 신청을 접수합니다.

이번 사업에는 예산 1억 원이 투입돼 120여 농가에 스프링클러 구입비의 60%가 지원되며 나머지는 자체 부담입니다.

제주시는 대상자 선정 절차를 서둘러 이달 안에 지원을 마무리한다는 방침입니다.
