Jeju now has another place to beat the summer heat. A new water park has opened up in Jeju Shinhwa World. Joseph Kim reports.

Artificial waves are dancing at the wave pool.

Vacationers beat the summer heat under the artificial waterfalls.

Some of them slide down through the 240 meter long water slide.

The high speed on the slide gives them a thrill.

Water park opens at Jeju Shinhwa World

The new water park opened at Jeju Shinhwa World.

It sits on 17,000 square meters of land and has 13 pools and 6 slides.

"저희 워터파크는 13개의 풀과 6개의 슬라이드로 구성돼 있고요. 남녀노소 즐길 수 있게 어린이들이 이용할 수 있는 시설과 성인들이 즐길 수 있는 시설들이 다양하게 구성돼 있습니다."

Following the opening of Jeju Shinhwa World last year, the resort is making progress to carry out its plan.

Last year’s opening of the amusement park and this year’s opening of the water park make the resort more able to welcome vacationers.

The “Transformers” exhibition hall also opened where visitors can enjoy popular animated films in virtual reality.

Lionsgate Movie World to open in 2020

In 2020, a “Hunger Games” themed park is set to launch in the resort.

The Jeju Shinhwa World has claimed to be the opener of new resort culture in Jeju.
