2. New program offers farmers monthly income
Proceeds from crop sales will be spread out

The provincial government is starting a trial program in which farmers will be paid monthly, rather than in lump sums when they sell their produce.

Farmers that ship to Nonghyup can sign up for the monthly payments, which will be between 300,000 and two million won.

The province is accepting applications from interested farmers, and it will begin making the monthly payments next year.

Local officials hope the steady income will help farmers who are sometimes forced to take out loans to cover living expenses.


내년 '농업인 월급제' 시범 도입…희망농가 접수

제주특별자치도가 내년부터 농업인 월급제를 시범 도입합니다.

농업인 월급제는 농협 계통출하 대금을 월별로 미리 나눠 받는 방식으로 농가당 월 30만 원에서 200만 원 정도 지급될 예정입니다.

제주도는 현재 농업인 월급제 희망 농가를 접수한 뒤 내년부터 시범 시행할 계획입니다.
