2. ‘Time to resume Gangjeong community restoration’
Governor tells village council members he supports project

The governor recently told Gangjeong village council members that he would resume the community restoration work that had been suspended in Gangjeong.

Governor Won Hee-ryong met council chair Gang Hee-bong and other representatives Monday at the provincial office. He said the restoration work would resume with the village council at its core.

The governor also said, however, that the council needs to first discuss the priorities and content of the project with the relevant provincial departments.

Governor Won then met Vice minister of National Defense Seo Ju-seok to discuss cooperation in the hosting of an international naval review that will be held in Gangjeong this fall.

공동체 회복 사업은 마을회 중심으로 진행하겠다고 밝혔습니다.

다만 사업 내용과 우선순위에 대해서는 마을회와 도청 담당 부서간 사전 조율이 필요하다고 강조했습니다.

원 지사는 강정마을회 간담회에 이어 서주석 국방부 차관을 만나 국제관함식 성공 개최를 위한 협력 방안을 논의했습니다.
