4. Rural guesthouses have longer to apply for security certification
Numerous benefits for certified businesses

Jeju City has extended the application period for its new security certification for rural guesthouses from August 17th to the 24th.

Businesses must meet 20 requirements in five categories to be certified. They include the use of proper locks for guest rooms, CCTV security cameras, and proper hygienic practices. Business operators also must be free of all administrative punishments over the previous two years.

Applications are now being accepted by municipal offices and community service centers. Local officials will review applications and perform on-site inspections before issuing the security certificates.

Certified guesthouses will be given priority when the government awards tourism development funding and they will be promoted through official websites.

제주시가 '농어촌민박 안전 인증제' 접수기간을 당초 17일에서 오는 24일까지로 연장합니다.

안전인증제로 지정받으려면 객실 잠금장치와 CCTV 설치, 최근 2년간 행정처분 유무, 위생관리 등 5개 분야 20개 항목의 요건을 충족해야 합니다.

신청은 행정시와 읍면동사무소에서 접수받으며 서면조사와 현장조사를 거쳐 다음달 초 지정하게 됩니다.
