3. More support for April 3rd Incident victims and their relatives
Monthly payments increasing this month

The provincial government is expanding the financial support for living expenses it distributes to April 3rd Incident survivors and their relatives.

Beginning in August, the province has raised the support for survivors from 500,000 won to 700,000 won per month.

Victims’ spouses will now receive 300,000 won per month, not 50,000, and first generation relatives at least 75 years old will receive 100,000, not 50,000 won.

112 survivors of the April 3rd Incident are still alive. That’s 25 fewer than the 137 who were alive when this support program was enacted in 2011.

4·3 생존희생자-가족 생활보조비 지원 확대

4.3 생존희생자와 가족에 대한 생활보조비 지원이 확대되고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도는 이달부터 4.3 생존희생자에게 지급하는 생활보조비를 매월 50만원에서 70만원으로 인상했습니다.

또 희생자 배우자에 대해서는 5만원에서 30만원으로, 75살 이상의 1세대 유족은
5만원에서 10만원으로 늘렸습니다.

현재 4.3 생존희생자는 112명으로 2011년 조례 제정 당시의 137명에 비해 20명 이상 줄었습니다.
