The province is cracking down on illegal fishing activities in the run up to the Chuseok holidays.

Violations include fishing for young fish or shellfish, fishing in a banned area or during banned a period, and using unauthorized equipment or methods.

Provincial officials recently uncovered four cases of illegal gathering of young conches.
