4. Jeju Batdam Festival begins September 15
2-day event in Woljeong-ri

The fourth Jeju Batdam Festival begins September 15th at the Jeju Batdam Park in Woljeong-ri, Gujwa-eup.

The provincial government and the Jeju branch of the Korea Rural Community Corporation are sponsoring the two-day event, and KCTV Jeju is organizing it. The festival offers a unique window on Jeju’s agricultural traditional culture?-visitors can try their hand at building the island’s traditional stone walls for which the festival is named, rolling large stones, and other activities.

One of the highlights will be a hike along a batdam path with a traditional Jeju lunchbox, called a (동고량) “donggoryang.” A guide will accompany hikers to explain the history and characteristics of Jeju’s batdam.

KCTV Jeju will provide the traditional lunchboxes and other souvenirs to people who sign up in advance to take part in the programs. It is also looking for festival volunteers.

제주밭담축제 내달 15일 개막

제주의 대표 가을축제인 '제4회 제주밭담축제'가 다음달 15일부터 이틀간 제주시 구좌읍 월정리 제주밭담테마공원에서 열립니다.

제주특별자치도와 제주도농업유산위원회가 주최하고 KCTV 제주방송이 시행사로 참여하는 이번 밭담축제는 독특한 농경 문화를 경험할 수 있는 체험프로그램과 밭담쌓기, 굽돌굴리기 등 경연프로그램으로 진행됩니다.

특히 제주의 전통 도시락인 '동고량'을 들고 밭담길을 걷는 제주밭담길걷기는 전문 해설사와 직접 걸으며 밭담의 유래와 특징을 들을 수 있고 거리 공연도 함께 즐길 수 있습니다.

KCTV 제주방송은 프로그램 사전 신청자에 대해 동고량을 비롯한 기념품을 제공하게 되며 아울러 자원봉사자를 모집하고 있습니다.
